2024 CCSF Scholarships

The following scholarships are being offered to 2024 graduates by Central Community Scholarship Foundation. Only 2024 graduates of Central Community School District of Elkader, Iowa are eligible for these scholarships.

Ainsworth Scholarship $500 Must live in Volga area (3 miles outside of 52077)
Ann Moyna Memorial Scholarship $1,000 Student who has shown dedication to their education at Central Community High School and has also shown pride in their community by volunteering their time and energy.
Bernie Saggau $100 Participate in athletics
Bink Award $100 No restrictions; Goes to senior who exhibits the most growth and improvement in the areas of academics, attitude, and social interaction between freshman and senior years
Brian Kenney $150 1) Participate in FFA; 2) planning to major in vet medicine, general or agriculture, food science, or horticulture
CEA Scholarship $200 1) Plan to major in education; 2) attend a four year or two year college
Dale Tieden Scholarship $100 1) Graduating senior has not received another local scholarship; 2) has shown academic improvement in the last two years of high school
FreedomBank Scholarship $1,000 1) Top math student; 2) pursuing business, finance, or agriculture; 3) attending a four year or two year college
Donna and Carl Wessel Spirit Award $500 Participate in at least one activity, club, or organization for 2 consecutive years
Dorothy Dittmer Medical Scholarship $500 Plan to pursue a career in medicine (up to 2 scholarships awarded)
Dorothy Dittmer Scholarship $500 No restrictions (up to 2 scholarships awarded)
Garms Financial $500 1) Good character; 2) Agriculture or related field of study; 3) preference to student intending to locate in a rural area
Gifford Insurance $500 1) Good character; 2) Agriculture or related field of study; 3) preference to student intending to locate in a rural area
John Stence $100 A participating senior in St. Joseph's of Elkader CCD or Church Youth Group
Jack Stence Community College $100 Plan to attend a community college
Jack Stence Essay $500 1) Cumulative 3.25 GPA; 2) Completes essay
Jack Stence Volunteer $250 Exceptional involvement in volunteer activities
Jean & Leslie Tappan Scholarship $4,000 4 awards of $4000 each year. Must attend a community or 4 year college; participate in an interview for selection; Awarded students must present a transcript to the CCSF in May of each year as the award is for tuition only. The scholarship will not exceed the amount of tuition for the year.
The John Edwin (Eddie) Poull and Dorothy (Starr) Poull Community College Scholarship $5,000 No restrictions
The John Edwin (Eddie) Poull and Dorothy (Starr) Poull Four Year College Scholarship $5,000 No restrictions
Kate Bente Memorial Scholarship $100 1) Nursing Major; 2) Priority given to student attending NICC (not to be awarded if no one qualifies)
Lucy Scholarship $1,000 Student who shows scholastic promise and has been involved in extracurricular activities
Marcy Alderson Award TBA 1) Plan to pursue music or music education; 2) participated in music/theater/arts/activities
Mason Scholarship $150 1) Selected by Masons; 2) based upon academic record, character displayed, and community service performance
Most GPA Improvement $100 Greatest improvement in GPA from 9th grade to senior year
Owen Armstrong Memorial Scholarship $200 3.0 GPA
Tammy Christeleit Golf $50 1) Golf Letter winner; 2) Exhibited good sportsmanship, team spirit, cooperative, leadership, and dedication
Tammy Christeleit Softball $50 1) Softball letter winner; 2) Exhibited good sportsmanship, team spirit, cooperative, leadership, and dedication
Taylor Merit $500 3.25 GPA or higher
Vernon Schuety Aviation $100 1) Demonstrate desire and potential to succeed, but may not have money or encouragement to further education; 2) Financial need is a bigger factor than GPA; 3) Planning to major in Aerospace Engineering
Vernon Schuety CC/Track $75 1) Member of cross country or track for a minimum of three years; 2) exhibited a positive attitude, dedication to practice, and a desire to succeed
