Are you a Central Community School District high school senior? Then you are eligible to apply for secondary education scholarships from the Central Community Scholarship Foundation. Here is what you need to know!

Applications open: DECEMBER 1, 2024 at 9:00 AM

Application deadline: MARCH 1, 2025 at 4:30 PM

If you are pursuing education or training after college, YOU are eligible for at least one scholarship

More than 30 scholarships available for 2025 graduates

Scholarship amounts range from $25 to $5,000

What you need to apply

You will be asked for the following information:

  • Your address, birthdate & email address
  • Your parents' names & phone number, if you are under 18
  • Whether or not you have completed the FAFSA
  • The type of education you plan to pursue (college, community college, technical school or the military)
  • The field of study you intend to pursue
  • Your high school GPA
  • The activities you have participated in (community service outside of school; activities at school like band, clubs, sports, etc; and leadership roles)
  • Essay (see details below)
  • Which scholarships you would like to be considered for (see the list of scholarships)

The Essay

Before starting the application, prepare a 500-word essay on the following topic:

Write about an experience from your own life and explain how it has influenced the educational  and/or any career paths you are currently considering.

The file can be either a Word document or a pdf. Be sure to have it on your computer so you can upload it during the application process. 

How to Name the Essay File

Include your first and last name in the file name. For example, name the file john_doe_essay.doc or jane_smith_2020-essay.pdf

Tips for Your Essay

  • Each paragraph consists of 3-5 well-written sentences. 
  • Introduction paragraph that engages the reader and establishes the thesis. 
  • 4-6 body paragraphs that provide evidence to back up your thesis. Each paragraph should be a cohesive element with an intro and conclusion. The body paragraphs should flow well from one point to the next.
  • A conclusion paragraph that reminds the reader of the thesis and highlights key points from the body text. It should give the reader a sense of closure.
  • 500-word essays do not have to be exactly 500 words.  Somewhere between 450 to 550 words is fine.

You CANNOT save your application to finish later so be sure you have everything ready before you start.
